Status: Full-time

Reports to: Landscape Maintenance Scheduler

Job Purpose: The Lawn Care Specialist is responsible for maintaining healthy, vibrant turf by applying fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and other treatments. This role involves diagnosing turf-related issues, implementing treatment plans, and providing exceptional service to our residential and commercial clients.

Commitment: Scheduled, 40+ hours per week, Monday-Friday, with additional hours as needed or requested.

Key Aspects of the Job

1.) Turf Treatment Application- 

• Apply fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and pesticides based on turf needs and seasonal cycles

• Calibrate and operate application equipment (e.g., sprayers, spreaders) accurately

• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to chemical applications

2.) Turf and Soil Diagnosis- 

• Inspect turf areas for signs of stress, disease, pests, weeds, or nutrient deficiencies

• Recommend corrective actions or ongoing maintenance plans to improve turf health

3.) Customer Service and Communication-

• Explain services, treatments, and recommendations to clients in a clear, professional manner

• Provide guidance on watering, mowing, and seasonal lawn care practices

• Build strong customer relationships and handle service concerns or follow-ups

Success Factors / Requirements

• Willingness to engage all people in a friendly, professional manner

• Ability to communicate well in writing and conversation as needed

• Turf grass Knowledge: Diagnose turf grass problems (insects/disease/weeds) and recommend or take appropriate action to remedy issues.

• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations related to chemical handling, application, and use of personal protective equipment.

• Brand Ambassador: Uphold our commitment to superior quality and customer service, reinforcing our brand promise and delivering excellent results.

• Possess a strong desire to both grow and improve the Turf and Ornamental Plant Health Care Services of Villwock’s Outdoor Living

• Valid driver's license required

• At least 2 years of professional lawn and landscape experience

• Valid pesticide applicator's license required (or ability to obtain one)

• Previous application experience is heavily preferred

• Physically able to lift and carry up to 75lbs repeatedly

Job Duties

• Ensure Quality and Customer Satisfaction- Interact with clients to understand their needs and provide outstanding customer service.

• Accurate Application: Apply fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides and fungicides according to label instructions and safety regulations.

• Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain various application equipment such as sprayers, spreaders, and aerators as necessary.

• Record Keeping: Ensure accurate recording of applications including dates, times, materials used, rates, and areas treated.
